The tail boom on the sceadu is secured to the heli with four bolts. Above these bolts is where the gyro mounting plate is attached. To remove the tail boom, we first need to slacken or remove the mounting bolts holding the gyro mounting plate to the heli. You only need to take the screws out of one side, but you can remove them from both sides, if you like.

Next we need to remove the mounting bolts that clamp the tail boom in position, and the bolts that mount the boomstays to the heli body. There are two boomstays, one on each side of the heli (mounted in the lower position in the illustration).

If your Sceadu doesn't have the extra upper third bearing housing on the front tail pulley shaft, skip the next step and proceed with removing the boom.
If you do have that extra upper third bearing housing fitted, it prevents you from removing the tail belt, so it needs to be removed now. once the mounting bolts have been removed (possibly from both sides of the helicopter, depending on the bearing housing type), you should be able to lift the bearing housing off the top of the shaft fairly easily.

Next, to remove the tailboom you need to get the tail belt off the pinion gear. Pushing the tail boom in to the heli body will slacken the belt enough to allow easy removal up and over the top of the pinion gear. Make sure the connecting rudder servo wire to the gyro has been disconnected so as to not strain it when removing the boom from the heli.

Once the belt has been unhooked, pull the boom out of the heli body.
